Kindergarten to 8th Grade

Equipping Christian leaders to glorify God and serve our community.

St. Paul’s Lutheran School operates Monday through Friday from 8:00-3:00 starting in late August and going through Memorial Day. Our academic calendar exceeds state minimums for instructional hours. Before and after school care is available as early as 7:15 A.M. and as late as 5:30 P.M.

Kindergarten

5 full days per week our students develop foundational habits like treating others with love and respect, following rules/routines, working cooperatively with others, being responsible for yourself, and daily studying of God’s Word. Students not only learn how school works, but they learn to look forward to school…because it is a place that is safe, fun, and inspiring.

Elementary

Students build on their kindergarten foundation, developing lifelong habits and learning the essential skills for future school success. Over the course of the elementary years your child will be taught organizational strategies that encourage responsibility and ownership. The goal is to move them from dependent learners to independent learners that have a growth mindset.

Middle School

In preparation for high school, students at St. Paul’s experience multiple teachers and multiple modes of instruction. Technology is regularly integrated into learning, and academic rigor is increased to help students realize their God-given potential as they consider how they might serve God and be a blessing to others in the later stages of their lives.

Well-rounded and prepared.

Our curriculum is much more than just the textbook series that we use. It is “the course we have our students run.” Instructional materials from national publishers are used, and God’s Word is integrated into each subject area to provide students with Biblical perspective.

We exceed the Michigan state standards, setting clear exit goals for our graduates that include:

  1. The attitudes we desire them to have

  2. The knowledge they need to succeed

  3. Motivation to continue growing beyond graduation

God has given unique talents and abilities to each student, and He has great plans to use them to be a blessing to others. We provide a well-rounded education that helps students realize their God-given potential and prepares them for their next phase in life.

Technology integrated.

We don’t view technology as a separate class to be taught. Rather, we believe that technology should be integrated into all subjects as a way to make our learning better. With technology, teachers can find increased efficiency, greater productivity, and the ability to deliver additional content and resources. Students grow their social skills by communicating, collaborating, and creating with their peers.

Each student in 1st-8th grade has a Chromebook. Online learning platforms (Google Classroom, Seesaw) are set up for delivering content and receiving work. St. Paul’s begins teaching typing and basic web navigation in 1st grade. Over the years students build their fluency with word processing, presentation software, spreadsheets, and web browsers.

Digital citizenship skills and best practices are taught so that technology can be a blessing in our students’ lives. Inappropriate content on the internet is blocked and web activity is monitored using GoGuardian, and we utilize Gradelink to notify you anytime a preset grading threshold is crossed.

A Message from Our Principal

I tell students that I have the best job in the world. What other job allows you "recess" time to run around and play games? What other job do you receive birthday treats? While these perks are all great, here are the real reasons I believe I have the best job in the world:

  1. As teacher, I get to instruct children in God’s Word (Proverbs 22:6).

  2. As teacher, I get to assist and support moms and dads in their difficult task of being Christian parents.

  3. As teacher, I get to inspire and equip the next generation of servant leaders.

  4. As redeemed child of God, I get to be real with students/parents, showing them that I too need to repent daily for my failings, but that I get to rest easy in the peace and forgiveness that only Jesus can give.

  5. As principal, I get to develop the vision and lead improvement efforts that move our whole school forward.

There is no job I would rather be doing, and I love serving at St. Paul’s. If you have questions, would like to visit, or want to learn more about Christian education, please schedule a tour below. I look forward to meeting you!

What makes St. Paul’s special?

“The Christian atmosphere along with the communication and connectivity as due to it being a smaller structured school. I never have to worry that my daughter will be ‘lost in the shuffle’ like that of many large public schools.”
