Early Childhood

Laying a solid foundation for a lifetime of learning.

St. Paul’s Lutheran Preschool is in operation from the first Tuesday after Labor Day through Memorial Day. We are fully licensed by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. The early training of a child is the most significant education they receive. However, an early childhood experience permeated by God’s Word and stories about their Savior provides a child added richness. Not only are their mental, emotional, social, and physical needs recognized, but also their spiritual welfare.

The desired result of such a situation will be a well-rounded personality that acknowledges the daily presence of Christ in their lives. Preschool might represent the child’s first separation from home, their first experience with a peer group and a substitute parent figure. The child can grow from a self-centered world of “I” to the interactive world of “we”.

A Message from Our Preschool Director

Your child is a precious blessing! As the Director of St. Paul’s Lutheran Preschool, I feel the great responsibility of partnering with you to ensure that your child grows during their time with us. We will love your child, help them develop a love for learning, and, most importantly, we will show your child how much our Savior Jesus loves them.

-Mrs. Krieger

Active learning for busy young learners.

Active learning is at the center of our curriculum.

We create an environment that encourages your child to explore learning materials and interact with adults and peers. We focus on supporting early learners as they make decisions, build academic skills, develop socially and emotionally, and become part of a classroom community.

We support parents as the first teachers of their children in religious instruction. Our church and school are ready to assist you in that task. The preschool children will be taught basic Bible stories from the Old and New Testament. They will learn simple Bible verses, prayers, and songs as a basis for their Christian education.

A schedule that blends academics, outdoors, and student-choice.

Our preschool program provides the instruction and assessment to ensure that your child will be ready for kindergarten. However, we do way more than that in preschool. Two staples of every preschool day are Circle Time (reading books, math games, letter recognition and letter sound games, singing, finger plays, etc.) and Choice Time (art activities, small group learning games, individual enrichment with teacher, or free choice activities). We also prioritize outdoor active play in our schedule.

The Brightwheel app allows our parents to have a streamlined sign-in and sign-out process, and it also makes it easy to share pics and messages between home and school.
